Southern Surgical Arts will be hosting IgniteRed to kick off Heart Month with the American Heart Association. At this third annual event, the community’s civic leaders, executives, and philanthropists all come together to raise awareness and fight heart disease.
National Wear Red Day
The American Heart Association asks you to wear red on February 3 and help raise awareness about heart disease being the leading killer of women in the U.S. This nationwide event encourages communities to take initiative and become more educated about cardiovascular health.
Secret Keeper Girl: The Purple Party Tour
Moms and daughters are invited to experience a faith-based evening full of high-energy music, dancing, positivity, and inspirational messages about true beauty, body confidence, and modesty! Recommended for girls ages 7-to-12 years old. This event is presented by First Things First.
One Billion Rising
This Valentine’s Day, join the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults for One Billion Rising, a worldwide campaign to raise awareness about violence against women and girls. Stop by the Bessie Smith Cultural Center for a crash dance party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy food trucks and live music, and raise your voice in the international movement.
Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy a snazzy evening of classic casino games, delicious food, drinks, and a silent auction at this annual fundraiser for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County. Held at Stratton Hall, this event begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m.
HullaBOWLoo is the Chattanooga Area Food Bank’s signature fundraising event. Head to Wilson Air Center at 7 p.m. for a festive kaleidoscope of color, lights, live music, and gourmet cuisine – and join the effort to eliminate hunger and promote better nutrition in our region.
30th Anniversary Heart Ball
Now celebrating its 30th year, the Heart Ball is an elegant evening benefiting the American Heart Association’s life-saving research, professional and community education, and advocacy efforts. This year’s event will be held at The Chattanoogan Hotel with entertainment from the Young Hearts Band.
Siskin Hospital Possibilities Luncheon
This community-wide fundraiser will benefit Siskin Hospital’s charity care. Support for the annual Possibilities Luncheon provides patients in need with access to resources and support, helping them discover life beyond disability.
The Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon, presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, will highlight the unique qualities that make up the Scenic City. Runners can expect to see the Tennessee River, Lookout Mountain, Downtown, and more along the 26.2 miles! Other races include a half marathon, 5K, and kids’ fun run.
This friendly competition invites teams to bring wine to sample, vote for favorites, and have the chance to take home a new “cellar” of wine at the end of the evening. This event will be held at the Walden Club and benefits the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer.
Denim & Diamonds
Enjoy a “TV Land” themed evening of music, dancing, and auctions organized by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society, Medical Foundation of Chattanooga, and Medical Alliance. All proceeds support the Project Access community health partnership and other community health initiatives.
March into the start of the new month as you explore works of art with Hunter curators followed by an art-inspired yoga practice led by Kim Eisdorfer. A $5 donation for this yoga practice supports the Hunter Museum’s educational programs. Participants are asked to bring their own mat and arrive by 1:30 p.m.
The Moth Ball® by CityScope®
The annual Moth Ball® by CityScope® is Chattanooga’s ultimate girls’ night out! Women of all ages come together to support other women during this ladies only event. This year’s proceeds will benefit the Chattanooga Room in the Inn. Tickets start at $35 with drinks and light hors d’oeuvres included.
Chattanooga’s largest fundraiser in the fight against colon cancer takes place at Enterprise South Nature Park on March 11. 100% of proceeds from this 5K and Fun Run stay local and benefit the Greater Chattanooga Colon Cancer Foundation (GCCCF).
Dalton Heart Ball
The Dalton Heart Ball is an elegant evening of drinks, dinner, and dancing at The Farm Golf Club. Proceeds support the American Heart Association’s life-saving research and community health initiatives.
Raccoon Mountain Marathon
Runners have lots of options during the Raccoon Mountain Marathon races! Participants can complete a full marathon or run a double-half marathon by completing 13.1 miles in the morning followed by another 13.1 miles later that afternoon. A regular half marathon is available on two separate courses, and relay options are available for any 13.1 mile race.
Strides of March
Organized by Chattanooga CARES, this family-friendly walk commemorates how many strides we have taken in the fight against HIV. Funds from this event help CARES continue its mission to reach, assist, and support people impacted by HIV.
